The next time you wish to say “shut up!” to people who say that you can unlock your car with just a phone, think again because they could be telling the truth. Unlike normal car remotes that require you to be of certain distance to unlock your car, there is a new application called Viper SmartStart from Directed Electronics that allows users to use their iPhone as a car remote as long as there is a cellular network. The next time you drop your keys into the drain, just pull out your iPhone to warm up, cool down, remote unlock, or pop open your car booth – not a really good choice in Malaysia, most of our basement parking lots does not have any phone signals anyway.
